Our Mission and Vision

Its our mission to train young men and women to work for the Lord and also to touch many generations with the power of God. It is our vision to preach messages of hope that are relevant to physical and spiritual needs of the people. Give comfort to people and create an atmosphere of love, peace, unity, sharing and fellowship.

Our Story

Like all great things, we started small. We took a few like-minds with a shared vision—and ran with it. Today, we are growing by the Grace of God. In the last days, the mountain of the Lord`s house will be the highest of all - the most important place on earth. It will be raised above the hills and people from all over the world shall stream there to worship.

JOIN A MINISTRY / GROUP

Though we are a growing church, we do everything to ensure that your contribution to this family is felt.
We create an atmosphere of fellowship both in the church and at the group levels which is why we encourage you to join a group or ministry in the church. By joining a group or ministry, you make yourself useful to the church and this speaks well of your commitment.

Currently, there are four (4) groups and  ministries in Bible Way Evangelistic Tabernacle Of Jesus to help you find a place to belong. Build your life around like-minded people and increase fellowship amongst our members. These groups will help you integrate into the church better and faster. Here is a list of the groups we have in the church.

HOW TO RECEIVE ETERNAL LIFE

At one stage in our lives, we all have to take a very important decision which is to accept the free gift of life that Jesus Christ gives to us through God’s plan of salvation. To be saved means to be “born again”. To be “born again” literally means “to be reborn from above”. This new birth brings spiritual transformation. This is an act of God through which eternal life is imparted into the individual who has accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour.

“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God.”
 Ephesians 2:8

Everyone is born into sin by virtue of our descent from Adam. We are considered spiritually dead until we have this new birth which comes when we accept the substitutional work of Christ Jesus on the cross. Jesus Christ first spoke about being born again in his conversation with Nicodemus.

“Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
 John 3:3

God gave us His only begotten Son so that through Him we all can be saved and reconciled with Him (John 3:16).

The Bible says we have all sinned and fallen short of God’s glory (Romans 3:23). The sin of Adam alone makes all men unclean hence salvation is God’s redemptive path to deliver us from the judgments and punishments of sin. You can do everything right and still not make it to heaven if you are not born again by having not accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour. He is the only way to the Father (John 14:6).

WHY MUST YOU BE BORN AGAIN?

  • To give you eternal life when your life here comes to an end (John 3:5)

  • To make you resurrect from spiritual dead through sin to eternal life with Christ(Ephesians 2:1)

  • To give you a new birth and identity in God through Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17)

  • To qualify you to be called a son and daughter of God (John 1:12-13)

  • To enable you commune with the Holy Spirit (John 14:16)

  • To reconcile you back to God (2 Corinthians 5:18-19)

  • To make you a coheir and a partaker in the inheritance of Jesus Christ (Romans 8:17)

  • It is God’s surest way of demonstrating His love to all mankind (John 3:16)

  • To enable you to represent God as His ambassador (2 Corinthians 5:20)

  • To enable you to be with the Lord in His Father’s house (John 14:3)

WHAT CAN YOU DO TO BE BORN AGAIN

Apostle Paul offers a route to salvation:
“That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.” Romans 10:9-10.
Here are simple steps to salvation:

Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and believe that He is the Son of God.
Accept that you are a sinner and renounce your sins.
Confess with your mouth that Jesus is the Lord over your life.
Ask Jesus to come into your life.
Ask for the Holy Spirit to help you in your new life
Be baptized into Christ by immersion.
Let the Bible and Church be your new friends.

By doing this you are on your way to experiencing God’s power of salvation and the transformation which brings you closer to Him and His grace. As you consider making this decision, remember that it is appointed unto man to die once after which there is judgment. You do not have “forever” to make up your mind.
“And as it is appointed for men to die once but after this the judgment.”
 Hebrews 9:27
Make a decision NOW by praying this meaningfully with a personal conviction.
“My heavenly Father, I admit that I am a sinner because I was born into sin.
I am also unworthy and undeserving of your love. Jesus, Your Son took away my sins when He died on the cross to give me another opportunity. I confess boldly that Jesus Christ is the Lord and Saviour of my life.
In His death, I died and in His resurrection, I resurrected with Him into a new life. Cleanse my heart and my soul with His blood.
I accept Him into my life to guide me from today and enable me to live holy and acceptable. Holy Spirit, come into my life, strengthen me and cause me to break away from the bondage of sin that leads to death.
Thank you for saving me. In Jesus’ name.
Amen.”
After praying the sinners prayer, you are now “born again” and a new life begins in Christ. This new life needs a commitment to put away the “old life”. To do this you need to be discipled, mentored and pastored through the word of God.

BAPTISM

“He who believes and is baptized will be saved, but he who does not believe will be condemned.”
 Mark 16:16.

When you confess the Lordship of Christ over your life and are saved, it is an inward experience which no eye can see. Baptism is an outward sign of what has taken place in you. For this reason, baptism cannot be separated from the process of total salvation. If you are not baptized yet, then the process of salvation is incomplete in you.
The act and practice of baptism have both physical and spiritual connotations. Baptism serves as a physical demonstration of freedom from the power of sin. It is symbolic of rebirth which has occurred in you.
There are two types of baptism; water baptism and Holy Ghost baptism.

Water Baptism

In Bible Way Evangelistic Tabernacle Of Jesus, we believe in water baptism by “immersion”. The Greek word translated baptism (Baptizo) means immersion. A few examples of people who were baptized in the Bible were:

Jesus (Luke 3:21)
The new converts who repented when Peter preached the gospel (Acts 2:41)
Saul, who was also known as Paul (Acts 9:18)
The believers at Ephesus (Acts 19:5)
Cornelius and his household (Acts 10:47)
The Ethiopian eunuch (Acts 8:38)

Water baptism is important as it connects you to the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
“For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives.”
 Romans 6:4 (NLT)
It also is an outward confirmation of the transformation that has taken place in you. You are encouraged to make yourself available when the next Water Baptism is announced.

The Holy Spirit Baptism

The Holy Spirit baptism is a baptism of empowerment.

“John answered their questions by saying, “I baptize you with water; but someone is coming soon who is greater than I am–so much greater that I’m not even worthy to be his slave and untie the straps of his sandals. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.”
 Luke 3:16 (NLT)

We believe in the Holy Ghost baptism and encourage every member to desire to be baptized with the Holy Ghost. It is also known as the baptism of fire where the believer is baptized with the power of God to walk in the supernatural and experience the manifestation of God’s divine abilities. It helps with the service of the ministry and enables you to pray effectively. You can receive this baptism from the moment you confess faith in Christ, as in the case of the first Gentile convert, Cornelius (Acts 10:44-46; 11:15, 16). It can also occur after the salvation experience (Acts 8:12-17) or when prayer is said for you by the laying on of hands.
